A program, funded by a grant from the producers who supervised the final season of the hit television program LOST, will instruct students on the art writing intriguing hooks which do not have to actually deliver any true satisfaction in the end. The skills would go toward entering the booming industry of writing internet advertisements, specifically "spam ads."

Courses include Uses of the Word "Weird," Playing Off Fear and Prejudices I, Playing Off Fear and Prejudices II, and How to Motivate Through Disappointment.

Some universities are considering expanding the program with a course that was designed by key writers at the computer game company Blizzard, who continue to work on the online game World of Warcraft, titled: Reinforcing Addiction Through Endless, Meaningless Story-Lines.
