Law Firms Plead for Las Vegas Slogan to Change
"What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," may be a catchy saying to help grease the gears for the decorum of debaucheries to partake of in the famous Nevada city, but many law firms have had enough.
"The joke is getting old," partner of the firm Lewis, Lewis, and Cumberland said about the situation. "Sure, it's a steady source of business, but the types of people who need representation due to this little adage strongly tend toward the moronic."
Divorces, lawsuits, and criminal trials abound among irresponsible people who take the saying a little too much to heart, in other words. And it creates a legal nightmare.
"You can pretend all you want that the consequences won't leave the town, but the paperwork sure as hell does."
(editor's note: After publication of this article, Lewis, Lewis, and Cumberland offered several "alternative slogans" for the city, such as "Vegas: 1 in 4 people have an STD, so be cautious!" and "Sign-away-all-your-income-away-in-alimony-checks City.")
